Melania Parzonka is Chief Analyst for European Security at Łukasiewicz-ITECH, an analytical think-tank within the Łukasiewicz Research Network – a network of national R&D institutes operating under the Polish Ministry of Science.
Melania specialises in European security and the EU’s policy toward its Eastern neighbourhood, with a particular focus on Ukraine and Moldova. Previously, Melania worked as an analyst covering EU foreign and security policy at the Polish Institute of International Affairs (PISM). From 2022 to 2025, she coordinated the Russia–Eurasia Programme and Ukraine Forum at Chatham House, a London-based think tank. She also completed a Blue Book traineeship at the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Defence Industry and Space (DG DEFIS).
In 2025, she received a scholarship from Harvard Ukrainian Research Institute to attend its Ukrainian for Reading Knowledge course.
At EPIK, Melania’s research focuses on defence cooperation between European stakeholders and Ukraine, and the potential role of the EU in easing barriers to that cooperation.
